Q: What does "Where the West Begins" mean? 
A:
Scott was founded in 1870 by way of the railroad, which took ten years to convict labor to complete in   
1880.  The main line of the Southern Railway cuts the city into two.  Scott's Logo, "Where the West Begins," originated from railroad timetables which listed Scott as the "Origin of western travel."

Q: Who do I call for trash pickup complaints?

Q: What do I do with branches I trim from my trees?
A: The city goes around every other week and picks them up. You need to put them stacked up
by the road. Do not mix them up with other trash and make sure all the dirt is off. Branches must be no more than 4ft. in length, and no wider than 18in. Contact Keith Theriot at 337.233.4731 Ext 315.

Q: Where do I get Sand Bags?
A: You can pick them up at the Maintenance Building at 445 Lions Club Rd. Limit is 2 bags per door. For more information, please call 337.233.1130.

 Q: Can I pay my bill with a credit/debit card?
 A: Yes, City Hall now accepts credit/debit card payments (Visa, Master card, American Express, Discover) to pay utility bills only.  Customers can also pay their utility bills on-line, using the link "Pay Bills On-line" located on the Home Page.
