SCOTT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS L. Leo Judice Montessori is located in Scott and services students in grades K-3 from throughout Lafayette Parish. The 2008-2009 school year has brought with it many exciting additions to our campus, including the addition of third grade, a computer lab, gardens, and outdoor learning areas. They are a Montessori and environmental science themed school, and they encourage active, self-directed learning with opportunities for whole group, small group, and individualized instruction. Teachers and students are taking learning outdoors. An Environmental Science Themed School science is being incorporated into all areas of our curriculum. We love learning at L. Leo Judice and we think it should be interesting, engaging, and fun! Westside Elementary is committed to excellence in education. the faculty and staff work cooperatively to provide an environment for the students that is both pleasant and conducive to learning. The following mission statements are offered to the parents, students, and community members as an expression of the intent of the staff to help develop academically and socially competent students. "The parents, faculty and staff of Westside Elementary are committed to preparing all students for academic success. All students will demonstrate annual academic growth. The Westside Elementary faculty and staff are committed to maintaining open lines of communication with parents. We believe that parental involvement is a necessity as we strive to develop a total child. We are committed to involving parents in shared decision-making and encouraging parents to become active participants in their child's educational process." The faculty and staff of Scott Middle School are dedicated to the education of the "whole child". Through various classroom environments, your child is exposed to all our faculty and staff have to offer as professional educators. We truly provide the foundation for our students in order to help them succeed in their later educational experiences. These experiences are provided through various elective courses, such as computer literacy, chorus, french, band, and new to Scott Middle School this year, Visual Arts.
