Utility Bills

Flat Rate Charges per month:

  • $8.70 Water (apply to first 2,500 gallons of usage, $4.20 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)
  • $17.43 Garbage
  • $8.80 Sewer (apply to first 2,500 gallons of usage, $3.20 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)

The meters are read between the 10th and the 15th of each month. Bills are mailed by the last working day of the month.  If you have not received your bill, please contact the City of Scott (337.233.1130) as soon as possible. The customer is responsible for payment of the bill by the 10th of the month. After the 20th, a penalty of $5.00 will be assessed.

After the 21th, SERVICES WILL BE DISCONNECTED FOR NON-PAYMENT.

To have services reconnected, customers must pay the AFTER 10th AMOUNT IN FULL (including penalty) plus an ADDITIONAL RECONNECT FEE of $15.00.

We DO NOT accept credit and debit cards for reconnections.

THIS RECONNECTION FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE!

Cut-Offs: (people moving out of town)
Due to our computer program, your meter deposit will be applied toward your final bill. Cut-Offs will be made during the normal billing cycle. If you have a balance due, you will be sent a final bill for what is owed, less the amount of the deposit.

Fees for new residential

If you own the property:
Deposits:
Water - $30.00 Sewer - $30.00 Gas - $60.00
If gas is turned off a mercury test has to be done the cost is $50.00. This is State Law.

If you rent the property:
Deposits:
Water - $50.00 Sewer - $50.00 Gas - $100.00
If gas is turned off a mercury test has to be done the cost is $50.00. This is State Law.

If you move a trailer into the city limits permits required:

Moving permit - $75.00
Electrical permit - $50.00
A/C permit - $50.00

A deposit is required for all connections.

An automatic draft from your account can be set-up by contacting City Hall, and you will need to provide your bank information.
