Parade Registration

Floats may not exceed 40' in length or 10' in width and may not be less than 3' or more than 13' in height. Floats must have four solid sides constructed of wood or other hard substance and no less than 42" in height.*

The wheels of any vehicle in parade may not protrude past the body of the vehicle.*

The top of the front bumper of any vehicle participating in any parade shall not exceed 36 inches in height.*

No float or vehicle with more than 18 tires combined, military style vehicles, jeeps, motorcycles, four-wheelers and golf carts shall be allowed. No horses allowed in the parade. No walking organizations, children or adult, will be allowed in the parade with the exception of ROTC and school marching bands. Any specialty vehicles must be approved by Mayor and Chief of Police prior to the registration deadline as well as walking groups.*

Each float must be equpped with at least one fire extinguisher in good working order and a ladder or steps for entering and exiting the float. A float may not contain open flames, such as in a barbeque pit.*

No glass containers on floats.*

No person may ride on the roof, hood, or bed of any vehicle in the parade. No person shall enter or exit a float during the parade.*

A float rider or driver must not use obscene, profane, abusive or derogatory language, gestures, clothing, etc. This includes no vulgar music*

A driver caught drinking will be stopped and detained. *

No adding fuel to a generator during the parade. This must be done prior to lining up. No "silly string" which is defined as any chemical product which, upon activation, emits a string-like substance by means of a propellant.*

The following items are not to be thrown, handed or in any way delivered from a float: jello shots or any other alcohol based item; items depicting drugs or drug use; sexually oriented items; animals (dead or alive); any items weighing over 5 ounces, pointed objects or glass containers. All trash is to be kept on float and properly disposed at end of parade.*

I confirm that I have read and understand the City of Scott Rules and Regulations for the Mardi Gras Parade as listed above and I agree to abide by them. Failure to adhere to the rules and regulations are grounds for denial of entry or removal of float from the parade.*
