Utility Servcies

If you are a new customer whether you are renting a home or planning to own a home in the corporate limits the information listed below will help with the transition.  Nonetheless, all residents are required to visit City Hall to put a utility deposit along with a completed copy of the New Customer Application , which you can CLICK HERE to view/print.  

 

Utility Bills                                                  (Effective 7/1/2024)

Flat Rate Charges per month: 
 

Residential:  

  • $13.33 Water (apply to first 2,500 gallons of usage, $7.87 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)

  • $20.60 Garbage

  • $12.80 Sewer (apply to first 2,500 gallons of usage, $7.87 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)

 

Commercial: 

-$20.95 Water (apply to first 3,000 gallons of usage, $7.87 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)
-$20.60 or have the option to choose. 
-$16.81 Sewer (apply to first 3,000 gallons of usage, $7.87 is charged per 1,000 gallons over)

 

 

The meters are read between the 8th and the 10th of each month. Bills are mailed by the last working day of the month.  If you have not received your bill, please contact the City of Scott (337.233.1130) as soon as possible. The customer is responsible for payment of the bill by the 10th of the month. After the 20th, a penalty of $5.00 will be assessed.

After the 26th or the last Tuesday at the discretion of the Utility Clerk, SERVICES WILL BE DISCONNECTED FOR NON-PAYMENT. 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  In the event you are DISCONNECTED a shut-off valve must be visible to be RECONNECTED.

​

To have services reconnected, customers must pay the AFTER 20th AMOUNT IN FULL (including penalty) plus an ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATION FEE of $75.00.

​

We DO NOT accept credit and debit cards for re-connections.

​

THIS ADMINISTRATION FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE!

Cut-Offs: (people moving out of town)
Due to our computer program, your meter deposit will be applied toward your final bill. Cut-Offs will be made during the normal billing cycle. If you have a balance due, you will be sent a final bill for what is owed, less the amount of the deposit.

Water - $40.00 Sewer - $40.00 Gas - $80.00 Garbage- $40.00
If gas is turned off a mercury test has to be done the cost is $50.00. This is State Law.


If you rent the property:
Deposits:
Water - $50.00 Sewer - $50.00 Gas - $100.00 Garbage $50.00
If gas is turned off a mercury test has to be done the cost is $50.00. This is State Law.

If you move a trailer into the city limits permits required:

Moving permit - $75.00
Electrical permit - $50.00
A/C permit - $50.00
Used Mobile Home Inspection - $50.00

* In addition to the above permits, utilities are needed for trailers.

A deposit is required for all connections.

An automatic draft from your account can be set-up by contacting City Hall, and you will need to provide your bank information.
